Interested in innovation? Maybe fashion? Charity? Or Wine? The Fashion Project at Tamarac Square is a competition that is going on throughout April for local designers to showcase what they can create with a strict time-crunch and budget. Twelve Denver designers have been competing to win a trip to Fashion Week in New York for the past 2 weeks. Some of the past challenges have been 'the little black dress' and 'ACE Hardware challenge' where each designer was given just one week and $150 to make the infamous 'little black dress' or an outfit completely made out of findings from Ace Hardware! Kelli E. and I were lucky enough to make it for the Ace Hardware challenge where we got to see ensembles made from painters cloth, plumbers chain, bird seed, and even duct tape!
The cost to attend the event is only $20 per show and 100% of the proceeds go to Dress for Success. This is an organization that assists disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and interview tips to help these women suceed in their career development. So far, the Fashion Project has donated over $3500 to Dress for Success!
Oh yeah, and if wine is your thing - Little Black Dress wines provides complimentary wine at every show!! There are still 2 weeks left so let me know if you would like to attend!!

Amazing! I had no clue Denver had a vibrant fashion design industry. Kudos to those creating designs to compete. I knew of the Dress for Success charity and that's a great fit with this competition. I liked the Ace Hardware designs best - from elegant to off-the-wall.
